Istanbul is a city where history becomes part of the event itself.Its architecture offers unique opportunities for private celebrations that cannot be recreated anywhere else in the world.
This project was developed as a conceptual engagement dinner in Istanbul, designed specifically for the architecture and atmosphere of the Binbirdirek Cistern — one of the city’s most distinctive historic venues.
The cistern’s stone columns, vaulted ceilings, and reflections create a powerful spatial rhythm. When designing this project, the goal was not to dominate the space with décor, but to enhance its character through light, composition, and restrained design choices.The concept is built around:
- a deep red color palette
- candlelit illumination
- long tables positioned between the columns
- an intimate, private dinner format
This approach makes the setting ideal for engagement celebrations in Istanbul, anniversaries, proposal dinners, or exclusive private events for couples and small groups.Rather than a traditional wedding setup, this project represents a luxury private dinner in Istanbul, where architecture, atmosphere, and personal storytelling take priority over scale.
Artificial intelligence was used as a visualization tool during the concept development stage. AI allowed the atmosphere, lighting design, table layout, and overall mood of the event to be clearly presented before production. The final vision, however, remains human — guided by experience, aesthetic judgment, and an understanding of how people emotionally experience space.
